All babies are born with an instinctive dive reflex, which closes the respiratory tract and slows the heart when under water, although this fades as the baby gets older. Despite this protective reflex, there's always the potential for panic to set in leading to inhilation of water. This course is designed to give a parent or guardian time to rescue them before a tragedy takes place. The course encourages the baby to be comfortable under water, reducing panic levels, and combined with the techniques of turning, kicking up and holding on to the side, will provide vital life saving skills. |
